Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned

Call me a sinner. Call me crazy. Call me Ishmael. What once I would have considered a source of shame and ridicule I now fully embrace and will proudly proclaim. No longer will I cower behind other’s perceptions. I am proud of the change. It wasn’t the fact that I bought three new golf clubs. The problems is the brand I bought. Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I have succumb to PXG.

Who Would Buy PXGs?

My friend Dan bought a PXG driver last year, lured by their advertising and pricing. I almost stopped golfing with him, too embarassed to be associated with a PXG owner. Has he no dignity; no self respect? Hasn’t he seen their commercials?

He hides his own shame with personalized headcovers, afraid of what others would think by flashing PXG headcovers on the range.

Like a serpent, he lured me into hitting his driver one day on the course. 300 yards later in the fairway I committed to buying one myself.

Owning PXGs is almost akin to joining the new Saudi Arabia golf tour. In fact, if they send a few million dollars my way I’d consider joining their tour myself. I’m fairly sure Greg Norman is reading my blog. Greg, send me a text with a dollar amount to consider…

Most people find these PXG commercials annoying. I used to be one of them…

A PXG Putter?

Ok, in full disclosure in addition to just buying 3 PXG woods I may have just bought a PXG putter. I have problems. Dan once again is to blame.

Why Do I Buy So Many Clubs?

I often get asked this question. I go through clubs faster than tour pros, trying to find the right combo of clubs for my bag. Part of it is the sheer enjoyment of trying something new. Often it is the mislead belief that a new club will lead to lower scores. I hope my buying habits have changed now that I have the new PXGs in my bag. Kelsey hopes so too.
